Description
This Potsticker Salad is a fresh, umami-packed twist on frozen dumplings. Juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, herbs, and a tangy-sweet dressing make it a quick and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb frozen gyoza dumplings (vegan or regular)
- 1 lb heirloom tomatoes, mixed colors
- 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
- 5 scallions, thinly sliced
- 1 red chili pepper (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (or crispy fried onions)
- Garlic chili sauce (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Steam or cook dumplings according to package instructions.
- Transfer dumplings to a large bowl and lightly coat with a small splash of sesame oil or water to prevent sticking.
- In a small bowl, mix tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup to make the dressing.
- Pour dressing over dumplings and gently toss to coat.
- Slice tomatoes, cucumber, scallions, and chili pepper.
- Add vegetables to the dumplings and mix well.
- Tear basil leaves over the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve at room temperature with optional garlic chili sauce.
Notes
- Feel free to add extra vegetables like cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, or edamame.
- For extra flavor, serve with garlic chili sauce.
- Pan-fry dumplings instead of steaming for a crispy version.
