Description
Crispy on the outside, melty on the inside—these Tuna Melt Patties are a quick, budget-friendly twist on classic tuna melts made with pantry staples and ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Swiss)
- 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in shredded cheese and green onions until well combined.
- Form mixture into 4–5 patties.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Optional: Top with extra cheese and broil for 1 minute for a melty finish.
- Serve hot with toast, buns, or salad.
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- Add more breadcrumbs if mixture is too wet.
- Add a little mayo if mixture is too dry.
- Try Swiss, mozzarella, or Pepper Jack for variation.
