Description

This Honey Sriracha Chicken is sweet, spicy, tangy, and packed with flavor. Tender oven-baked chicken breasts are coated in a sticky garlic honey-sriracha glaze that makes an easy and irresistible weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Honey Sriracha Sauce

  • 1/4 cup sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

For Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • Sesame seeds
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sriracha, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, lime juice, and garlic.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, and basil.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown chicken for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking dish.
  6. Pour the honey sriracha sauce over the chicken and turn to coat.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and continue baking for 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  9. Remove about 3 tablespoons of sauce from the dish and whisk with cornstarch.
  10. Pour the slurry back into the baking dish and bake for 1–2 more minutes until thickened.
  11. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes.
  12. Spoon sauce over the chicken, garnish with cilantro, sesame seeds, and lime wedges, then serve.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the heat level.
  • Chicken thighs, shrimp, or salmon work well as substitutes.
  • Marinate the chicken in the sauce for extra flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer and cook chicken to 165°F.
  • Great for meal prep and leftovers.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
