Description

This easy Homemade Pizza features a soft, chewy crust with a crispy bottom, topped with rich sauce, melted mozzarella, and your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

  • For the Dough
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 3/4 cup warm water (105–115°F)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose or bread flour (plus up to 1/3 cup more if needed)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for bowl/crust)
  • For the Pizza
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • Pizza toppings of choice
  • Garnishes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix salt, garlic powder, and half the flour in a bowl.
  3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, then slowly add remaining flour.
  4. Knead dough 3–5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 30–60 minutes until doubled.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). If using a pizza stone, heat it in the oven.
  7. Punch down dough and roll into a 12-inch circle.
  8. Transfer dough to prepared pan and poke holes with a fork.
  9. Brush with olive oil, then add sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  10. Bake 13–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
  11. Garnish with parsley, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use instant or active dry yeast.
  • Freshly shredded mozzarella melts better than pre-shredded.
  • Allow dough to fully rise for best texture.
