Description
This easy Homemade Pizza features a soft, chewy crust with a crispy bottom, topped with rich sauce, melted mozzarella, and your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- For the Dough
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 3/4 cup warm water (105–115°F)
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose or bread flour (plus up to 1/3 cup more if needed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for bowl/crust)
- For the Pizza
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- Pizza toppings of choice
- Garnishes
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix salt, garlic powder, and half the flour in a bowl.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil, then slowly add remaining flour.
- Knead dough 3–5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 30–60 minutes until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). If using a pizza stone, heat it in the oven.
- Punch down dough and roll into a 12-inch circle.
- Transfer dough to prepared pan and poke holes with a fork.
- Brush with olive oil, then add sauce, cheese, and toppings.
- Bake 13–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with parsley, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Slice and serve.
Notes
- Use instant or active dry yeast.
- Freshly shredded mozzarella melts better than pre-shredded.
- Allow dough to fully rise for best texture.
