Description

These Ground Turkey Rice Bowls with Bang Bang Sauce are a quick and flavorful weeknight meal. Seasoned ground turkey is tossed with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sriracha, then served over rice with fresh vegetables and a creamy sweet-spicy bang bang sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp sriracha
  • 2-3 tbsp chicken broth
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1/2-1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp honey
  • Cooked rice
  • Shredded carrots
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Edamame
  • Pickled onions
  • Avocado
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Prepare the bang bang sauce by whisking mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and honey in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked through.
  4. Add garlic, ginger, paprika, onion powder, soy sauce, sriracha, chicken broth, honey, pepper, and salt.
  5. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Sprinkle cornstarch over the turkey mixture and stir until slightly thickened.
  7. Optional: Stir 2 tablespoons of bang bang sauce into the turkey mixture.
  8. Assemble bowls with rice, vegetables, and desired toppings.
  9. Spoon the turkey mixture over the rice and drizzle generously with bang bang sauce.
  10. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
