Description

These Firecracker Chicken Wraps are spicy, sweet, and packed with bold flavor. Juicy chicken coated in a sticky firecracker sauce is wrapped with fresh crunchy vegetables for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • For the chicken:
  • 2 chicken breasts (about 400g), thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • For the firecracker sauce:
  • ¼ cup hot chili sauce (like sriracha)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar (white or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water
  • For the wraps:
  • 4 large tortillas or flatbreads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • ½ cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
  • ½ red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or yogurt sauce (optional)
  • Sesame seeds or green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, whisk chili sauce, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic. Mix cornstarch with water separately.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a skillet, add chicken and seasonings, cook 6–8 minutes until done.
  3. Add sauce: Reduce heat, pour sauce over chicken, simmer 2–3 minutes. Add slurry and cook until thick.
  4. Prepare vegetables: Slice and set aside.
  5. Warm tortillas: Heat briefly until soft.
  6. Assemble wraps: Spread sauce (optional), add veggies and chicken, garnish.
  7. Serve: Roll tightly, slice, and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use halal-certified soy sauce if needed.
  • Adjust spice level by reducing chili sauce.
  • Swap mayo for yogurt for a lighter option.
