Description

This easy cabbage stir fry is a flavorful, protein-packed dish with ground beef (halal), tender cabbage, vegetables, and a savory stir fry sauce. Perfect served with rice or noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb halal ground beef (replace pork)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 5 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Mix broth, cornstarch, and remaining sauce ingredients.
  2. Scramble eggs in butter, then set aside.
  3. Cook ground beef until browned, then set aside.
  4. Cook cabbage and onions for 8 minutes.
  5. Add peppers, carrots, and garlic; cook 3 minutes.
  6. Add sauce and stir until thickened.
  7. Return beef and eggs, mix and heat through.
  8. Garnish and serve with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt.
  • Add vegetables like broccoli or snap peas.
  • Sriracha enhances flavor without strong heat.
  • Store leftovers up to 3 days or freeze.
