Ingredients
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- ¼ small red onion, coarsely chopped
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 1 lime, zested and juiced
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Add tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime zest and juice, jalapeño, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper to a blender or food processor.
- Blend or pulse until ingredients are combined and reach your desired texture.
- Do not overblend to keep the salsa chunky.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Notes
- Use reduced-sodium canned tomatoes for better salt control.
- For fresh tomatoes, remove seeds and excess liquid first.
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
