Description
The Best Hawaiian BBQ Chicken is sweet, savory, and perfectly grilled with a sticky glaze made from soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. A tropical-inspired dish perfect for BBQ nights.
Ingredients
- 2–5 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
- ¾ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- â…“ cup chicken broth
- 2 ½ teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, chicken broth, ginger, and garlic until combined.
- Reserve 1 cup of the marinade and refrigerate it for later use.
- Add chicken thighs to the remaining marinade and coat well.
- Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
- Grill chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Brush reserved marinade over chicken while grilling for extra flavor.
- Serve hot with rice and sliced avocado.
