Description
This halal Alabama BBQ chicken chopped sandwich is bold, creamy, and crunchy—featuring crispy chicken, fresh veggies, and tangy white BBQ sauce all chopped together and stuffed into toasted hoagie rolls.
Ingredients
- 6–8 crispy halal fried chicken tenders
- 3 cups romaine lettuce (chopped)
- 1/2 cup dill pickles + a splash of pickle brine
- 1/4 cup red onion (sliced)
- 4 hoagie rolls (halal-certified)
- 4 tbsp butter (for toasting)
- Alabama White BBQ Sauce:
- 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise (halal-certified)
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp horseradish
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (halal-certified)
- 2 tsp hot sauce (halal-certified)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Whisk all Alabama white BBQ sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Reheat chicken tenders until hot and crispy.
- Butter and toast hoagie rolls until golden.
- On a cutting board, combine lettuce, pickles, onion, and chicken.
- Chop everything together until evenly mixed but still textured.
- Drizzle Alabama white BBQ sauce over mixture and chop/fold again.
- Stuff mixture into toasted hoagie rolls generously.
- Top with extra sauce and serve immediately.
