Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons oil (canola or sunflower)
- For the Custard Filling:
- 1 package custard powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate container, mix warm water, milk, and oil.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Prepare custard according to package instructions and add vanilla essence.
- Punch down risen dough and knead for 3 minutes.
- Divide dough into 12 balls, flatten into circles, and add a spoonful of custard.
- Seal the buns well and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick pan over low heat. Place buns inside, cover, and cook 10 minutes.
- Flip buns, cover again, and cook 5 more minutes until fluffy and golden.
