Ingredients

    • For the Buns:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
    • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup warm water
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 tablespoons oil (canola or sunflower)

 

  • For the Custard Filling:
  • 1 package custard powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate container, mix warm water, milk, and oil.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Prepare custard according to package instructions and add vanilla essence.
  7. Punch down risen dough and knead for 3 minutes.
  8. Divide dough into 12 balls, flatten into circles, and add a spoonful of custard.
  9. Seal the buns well and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  10. Heat a non-stick pan over low heat. Place buns inside, cover, and cook 10 minutes.
  11. Flip buns, cover again, and cook 5 more minutes until fluffy and golden.
