Description

Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms are rich, savory, and perfectly sautéed in butter and garlic for a classic steakhouse-style side dish. These mushrooms are deeply flavorful, glossy, and ideal alongside steak, chicken, or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon browning sauce (optional)
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim dry stem ends.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter.
  3. Add mushrooms and salt. Cook undisturbed for 3 minutes to sear.
  4. Mix paprika, onion powder, oregano, tarragon, pepper, and chili powder in a small bowl.
  5. Add garlic and spice mix to mushrooms. Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. If using browning sauce, stir it in and cook 1–2 minutes.
  7. Add Worcestershire and soy sauce. Cook 2–3 minutes until reduced.
  8. Stir in remaining butter until melted and glossy.
  9. Garnish with chopped chives and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm mushrooms for best texture.
  • Adjust garlic to taste for milder or stronger flavor.
  • Add a splash of white wine before mushrooms for extra depth.
