Description

A rich and indulgent surf & turf meal combining juicy seared steak, buttery Cajun shrimp, and a cheesy stuffed jumbo potato. Perfect for date nights or special dinners!

Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 sirloin or ribeye steaks (halal)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp butter (for searing)

For the Cajun Shrimp:

  • ½ lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp chopped bell peppers (red & green)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Cheesy Jumbo Potato:

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Scrub the russet potatoes clean, pierce them with a fork, and bake for 45–60 minutes until soft inside.
  2. Cook the Steak: Pat steaks dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, add steaks, and sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Add butter and baste the steak before removing from heat. Let rest.
  3. Make the Cajun Shrimp: In the same pan, heat olive oil and butter. Add minced garlic and chopped bell peppers; sauté for 1 minute. Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, squeeze lemon juice, then remove from heat.
  4. Prepare the Cheesy Potato Filling: Once potatoes are cool enough to handle, slice them open and scoop out the insides into a bowl. Mash with butter, milk, and cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Assemble: Fill each potato shell with the cheesy mixture, top with sliced steak and Cajun shrimp. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra melted cheese if desired.
  6. Serve & Enjoy! Serve hot with a drizzle of garlic butter or steak sauce for a restaurant-style finish.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use homemade Cajun seasoning or add chili flakes for spice.
  • Swap cheddar with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different twist.
  • To make it lighter, replace butter with olive oil and reduce cheese by half.
