Description

A deliciously spicy and cheesy bread featuring jalapeños and cheddar, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 jalapeño, diced small
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup milk, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
  3. Sift flour and baking powder into a large bowl.
  4. Mix in sugar, salt, onion powder, Parmesan, cheddar, and jalapeño.
  5. Whisk eggs and milk together, then stir into dry ingredients.
  6. Add melted butter and mix until just combined.
  7. Transfer batter to pan, garnish with jalapeño slices if desired.
  8. Bake 60–80 minutes, checking at 45 minutes and covering if needed.
  9. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to rack or serve warm.

Notes

  • Check at 45 minutes to prevent over-browning.
  • Add extra jalapeños or spicy cheese for more heat.
