Ingredients
- For the Filling
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped chives
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- For the Pastry
- 1 package crescent roll dough
- For the Sauce
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- For Brushing
- 1 tbsp cooking spray or melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Separate crescent dough into triangles. Place about 2 tablespoons of filling at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll dough over filling to form pillows. Place on baking sheet and brush with butter or spray.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour to form a roux.
- Gradually add chicken broth and heavy cream, whisking constantly.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and nutmeg until sauce thickens.
- Serve chicken pillows with Parmesan sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
