Ingredients

  • For the Filling
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • For the Pastry
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • For the Sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • For Brushing
  • 1 tbsp cooking spray or melted butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Separate crescent dough into triangles. Place about 2 tablespoons of filling at the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll dough over filling to form pillows. Place on baking sheet and brush with butter or spray.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and puffed.
  6. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour to form a roux.
  7. Gradually add chicken broth and heavy cream, whisking constantly.
  8. Stir in Parmesan cheese and nutmeg until sauce thickens.
  9. Serve chicken pillows with Parmesan sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
