Description
This iconic Honey Garlic Sauce is a staple in any kitchen, easily made from scratch. Sweet, savory, and garlicky, it’s perfect for drizzling over meats, stir-fries, or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 7–8 cloves garlic, minced and separated (~1 ½ tbsp)
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, 5 cloves garlic (~1 tbsp), and rice vinegar. Whisk to combine.
- In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch until dissolved, then pour into saucepan.
- Place saucepan over medium heat. Whisk regularly and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, lower heat slightly and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in remaining minced garlic (~½ tbsp).
- Transfer to a container and let cool slightly or completely before serving.
Notes
- Store prepared sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- One serving = 2 tablespoons.
