Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes on top and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the casserole. Pour beef broth around the edges and drizzle with milk if using.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.

- Brown the ground beef well and drain excess fat for best flavor and texture.
