Description

This Dump-and-Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole is the ultimate one-pan comfort meal. Tender chicken, hearty pasta, rich marinara, and plenty of melty cheese bake together effortlessly for a cheesy, satisfying dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights and family meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) package uncooked penne pasta
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (about 1 (24 oz) jar)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • lbs raw chicken breast, diced into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or Italian blend)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Fresh chopped herbs (basil or parsley), optional garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In the baking dish, combine uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, water, salt, pepper, and diced chicken. Stir well.
  3. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove foil and stir the casserole. Pasta may still be firm and slightly liquid—this is normal.
  5. Top evenly with mozzarella cheese, panko breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Return to oven uncovered and bake for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly and chicken is fully cooked.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.
