Description

Golden waffles with a rich cinnamon swirl and a smooth cream cheese drizzle create an indulgent breakfast or brunch favorite that feels just like a cinnamon roll in waffle form.

Ingredients

  • Waffle Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese Drizzle
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  4. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the swirl. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag.
  5. Grease the waffle iron lightly. Pour about 1/2 cup batter into the center and pipe a cinnamon swirl on top.
  6. Close and cook until golden and crisp, about 3–4 minutes per waffle.
  7. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until pourable.
  8. Serve waffles warm with cream cheese drizzle.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing the batter to keep waffles light and fluffy.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
