Ingredients
- Waffle Batter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Cream Cheese Drizzle
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
- Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the swirl. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag.
- Grease the waffle iron lightly. Pour about 1/2 cup batter into the center and pipe a cinnamon swirl on top.
- Close and cook until golden and crisp, about 3–4 minutes per waffle.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until pourable.
- Serve waffles warm with cream cheese drizzle.
