Description

Cheesy Ground Beef Stuffed Crispy Mashed Potatoes are the ultimate comfort food—crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and filled with savory seasoned beef and melted cheddar. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Let cool.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and garlic for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, smoked paprika, oregano, and chili flakes. Cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese and parsley. Allow filling to cool slightly.
  5. Flatten a scoop of mashed potatoes in your hand, add 1 tablespoon of beef filling, and seal with more potatoes. Shape into a patty.
  6. Coat patties in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil over medium heat and fry patties for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cool mashed potatoes and filling before shaping for best results.
  • Double-coat with breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
  • Can be prepared ahead and fried just before serving.
