Description

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy bang bang sauce, served in soft tortillas with fresh cabbage and avocado for a perfect taco night meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Lime wedges, for serving


Instructions

  1. Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, dredge in flour mixture, then dip again in buttermilk.
  4. Coat shrimp in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Whisk mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha to make bang bang sauce.
  8. Assemble tacos with cabbage, fried shrimp, sauce, and avocado.
  9. Serve with lime wedges.

  • Add radishes or pickled jalapeños for extra crunch and heat.
